After setting up your site, traffic will start coming in and start seeing affiliates turn from zeros into real numbers. Life is going to feel good from there on. After all, you’re one of the affiliates that will receive commission check for what they have done. You are now on your way to be a successful affiliate member and its time to your business into growth mode.
When successfully launched your site, filled with creative design, useful content and planned strategy, its time to implement an update timeline and a content management system. Make a schedule to keep yourself constantly updated with news and promotion relevant to your site. RSS feeds on your site are great ways to get a snapshot on what’s new on the sites you find most influential. You also can register your site for a constant update on new blog information, like the PAP blog from your own Google start page.
It helps to display a “What’s New” section in front of your website to keep visitors constantly updated on current trends. This will be a good addition to your site ad it does not solely depend on RSS feeds as a way to keep your visitor informed. It is best to read for yourself the news beforehand and summarize it into shorter, easier to understand information in your own words, with relevant links and directs visitors to a place that they can read reviews of add new program. Keeping a date on these entries is a useful tool as it helps visitors to keep track on what’s up to date and what’s not. Keeping dead links on your website will hurt your credibility. Badly.
Another useful feature is to request feedback from your constant visitor to you as the webmaster. Placing a “was this page useful” link at the bottom of your website is a great way to get a review from visitors to find out that what they feel beneficial and which is a waste of space. Pointing visitors to register for a poker room is another goal. Acquiring email address from visitors is also a good way to expand your influence, but make sure your newsletters are useful information and not trash or simple spam.
After running your website for sometime (around a week), its time to get Google Analytics added to your site. It is a program to keep track of your traffic and shows that where are they coming from and what do they do once they log on to your site. Keeping a close eye on your competition , like what are they doing, the contents in their websites and how they rank in the search engine. Researching on links from their website also helps you figure out which is the main attraction for visitors and see what is working for them. Joining a forum also helps on keeping yourself updated and getting new information and tips on gaining traffic and adding conversations.
Always remember there is no such thing as too much knowledge. You should get some experience on the stuff that you are tying to promote to get a “feel” on what are you trying to sell and it will help you create unique content and reviews. If you’re reluctant to spend money then look for a free roll or play money game to get some screenshots. Adding a personal touch goes a long ways when presenting unbiased sales driven copy to your visitors.
